Standalone cancellation insurance

Most insurers only sell cancellation cover as an add-on to travel insurance — you pay for both, even if you’re going to a concert in Prague. With us, you insure only what you need: a package holiday, ticket, accommodation or course. For 9% of the price, we reimburse cancellation fees after deducting the 10% excess.

When it fits

When standalone cancellation insurance makes the most sense

  • Tickets and events

You don’t need travel insurance for a concert or festival in the Czech Republic — just the certainty that you won’t lose the ticket price.

  • A holiday in the Czech Republic

A cottage, spa or hotel in the Czech Republic. Medical costs are paid by your health insurer, so all you need to sort out is cancellation.

  • You have annual travel insurance

You have travel insurance with your card or an annual policy, but without cancellation cover (or with a low limit).

  • Courses and camps

A language course or camp, where the main risk is that you won’t be able to attend at all.

Going abroad? Cancellation insurance covers your money if you can’t go. Take out travel medical insurance anyway — cancellation insurance doesn’t replace it. What cancellation insurance covers

Questions

Frequently asked questions

All questions →
  • It depends on whether your annual insurance includes cancellation cover and with what limit. Many annual and card insurance policies don’t include cancellation, or only with a low limit or payout. In that case, standalone cancellation insurance is worth it.

  • No. Cancellation insurance covers your money if you can’t set off on the trip. For a trip abroad, take out travel medical insurance anyway — treatment abroad can be very expensive.

  • Travel insurance applies during the trip — mainly medical expenses abroad. Cancellation insurance covers the situation where you can’t set off on a trip or go to an event and would lose the money you’ve paid. With us, you buy cancellation insurance on its own — you don’t have to buy travel insurance with it.

  • Some payment cards include cancellation cover, but usually with limitations — only for holidays paid for with that card, or with lower limits. Check your card’s terms. Our insurance applies regardless of how you paid.

  • Yes, you can insure trips, stays and events in the Czech Republic and anywhere in the world. Both Czech citizens and citizens of other countries can be insured.
