How it works

Three steps to peace of mind

  1. 1

    Ask for a quote

Tell us what you’re insuring and how much it cost. You see the price straight away, and we’ll email you a quote quickly.

  2. 2

    If you can’t go

Cancel your booking with the seller, notify the insurer of the claim and provide proof of the cancellation and its reason — a medical report, for example. We’ll help you with the claim.

  3. 3

    We reimburse the cancellation

The insurer reimburses your cancellation fees after deducting the 10% excess. No excess if the insured person is hospitalised or dies.

    Tomáš, 24 · 3-day festival ticket + a camping spot

Jana and Petr · A week’s package holiday in Egypt for two

In January, Jana and Petr bought a beach holiday. Four days before the flight, Jana was taken to hospital with appendicitis and spent five days there. The tour operator kept 90% of the price. Both of them were insured, and Petr is Jana’s partner, so the cancellation was covered for both.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

All questions →
  • Cancellation insurance (cancellation fee insurance) reimburses your cancellation fees if you have to cancel a trip, stay, event or course you’ve paid for, for a serious reason beyond your control — such as illness, injury or a death in the family. We reimburse cancellation fees after deducting the 10% excess, with no excess if the insured person is hospitalised or dies. The premium is 9% of the price, minimum CZK 26.

What exactly the insurance covers →
  • The premium is 9% of the total price of what you’re insuring, minimum CZK 26 per insurance policy. A CZK 1,500 ticket costs you CZK 135, a CZK 12,000 stay costs you CZK 1,080 and a CZK 40,000 package holiday costs you CZK 3,600. It’s a one-off payment.

    Work out the price →
  • We reimburse the cancellation fees — the deposit paid in advance or the price the seller didn’t refund under its terms — after deducting the 10% excess. If you get nothing back for a CZK 2,000 ticket, you’ll receive CZK 1,800. If you cancel because the insured person is hospitalised or dies, no excess applies. Cancellation fees don’t include the premium, airport taxes or fees that can be recovered.

  • If there are more than 30 days until the trip starts, you can take out the insurance at any time. If you buy the trip 30 days or less before it starts, the insurance must be taken out at the same time as you pay for the trip. In all cases, it only covers events that occur after it is taken out.

  • Yes. It doesn’t matter where you bought the ticket, stay or package holiday — from the organiser, at a travel agency, through a booking portal or at an online box office. A booking contract, binding order or proof of payment is enough.

  • Cancellation insurance doesn’t cover that — if the carrier or provider changes or cancels the trip, they have to refund you. Package holidays are also protected by tour operators’ statutory insolvency insurance. Cancellation insurance is for situations where you can’t go.
